5 Time Management Tips And Techniques for Home Business

Time Management Tips And Techniques

Time management (or more accurately  activities management) is an absolutely
essential skill that we must master if we want to achieve the success we desire
in our businesses.

Time Management Tip #1

Establish a morning (or nightly if that is when you work on your business) routine.

ALL successful people have them.

Here is an example of a morning routine.

  1. Upon waking, read positive affirmations/intentions, visualize goals, meditate
or whatever puts you in the right frame of mind to begin your day.
  2. Drink lots of water.
  3. Eat a healthy breakfast.
  4. Exercise. 20 to 30 minutes
  5. Read motivational/educational book for 15 to 30 minutes
  6. Listen to motivational/educational audio for 15 to 30 minutes
  7. Begin income producing activities.

To save time, you can listen to an audio book or other audios while exercising
or commuting etc.
If you can’t complete all of these activities at one time, you may
have to move some to later in the day.

Steps 1-3 and 7 take priority. Steps 4-6 are also very important, but can be done
at a later time during the day, if necessary.

The idea is to come up with a schedule that covers all of the bases, that works
for you.
Then stick to it like your future depends on it.

Because it does!

We all have the same amount of time, it is  what we choose to do with our time
that matters.

Time Management Tip #2

Define your income producing activities (IPAs).

Very Important!

There are many seemingly important things that we can do that take up a lot
of time, but don’t actually produce any income.

Examples of Non Income Producing Activities:

  • Checking your email.
  • Watching YouTube videos.
  • Surfing around chatting on social media.
  • Being in constant learning mode with no action.

While some of these activities can be important, they don’t directly produce
income.

Examples of Income Producing
Activities:

  • Writing a blog post on your own blog.
  • Shooting a quick 2 to 3 minute video.
  • Syndicating your content.
  • Email your list.
  • Direct engagement with potential clients on social media.
  • Build your social media following.
  • Placing solo ads or facebook ads.
  • Host a weekly live event. (hangout, periscope, call).

These activities will vary depending on what type of business you are in, but
I think you get the idea.

Time Management Tip #3

Block out a 2 hour time slot each day that you can dedicate to working on
your IPAs.
If you are focused and avoid distractions, this is all the time you
will need.

Remember this is YOUR business.

You are not getting paid for how much time you spend working, but for how
effective you are in using the time you have.

Time Management Tip #4

At the end of each day, plan out exactly what you will do the next day.

Hint: ALL successful people do this.

Your plan should be prioritized with your IPAs at the top of the list. These
must be done before non income producing activities.

NO exceptions.

Wouldn’t it be great to have all of your IPAs done first and have the rest of
the day to do whatever you want?
That’s what the “Freedom Lifestyle” is all
about!

Time Management Tip #5

To be at the top of your game, you should take breaks periodically to stay
focused.

Lately, I have been starting to use the “pomodoro technique”. With this
technique, you laser focus on one task for 25
minutes and then take a 5
minute break.

Get up from your computer or put down your phone or other mobile device
and walk around, exercise, grab a drink or whatever to
recharge your
batteries.

Then go back and continue working on your IPAs. After 4 cycles, take a 10
minute break.

For this, I use a program called “Tomato Timer”. It is free and can be found
here: Tomato Timer

Works great.

Go to settings to adjust alarm type and volume.

If you follow these time management tips and techniques on a daily basis,
you will see a dramatic increase in your productivity and in the results
you see in your business.

If this helped you, I would greatly appreciate it if you would leave your
